Many people call Jardini aros a Leich Aro but then I did some research and found out that the Leich aro is a completely diffrent species.

Jardini aro = Scleropages Jardinii

Spotted aro and/or Leich aro = Scleropages leichardti

So you tell me whats the diffrence?

One's a Jardini, while the other is a Leich!

very old question. once you learn about the fish, you can easily see differences. leichardti is longer and slender, jar is kinda shorter and taller(fatter). jar carries hardcore attitude. leichardti's have a chance of being calmer. some are still mean SOB's tho. (mine is a nice guy, and lives with some tankmates) i have a leichardti, he loves other fish.

jar's have red or dark spots. leichardti's have lighter pinkish orangish spots ALL OVER. mine carries a pink shimmer to it over the glossy white body. closest thing to an asian aro, but imo i think may not be worth as much price wise, but asian aros are way more easy to come by then a leichardti in my area. so personally carries a higher quality rating

nothin' to add here really. just scan through the old threads, you'll get all your answers there, and more....
