What's the largest Bichir that ate another bichir in your tank ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hello,

i never lost abichir by eating by another bichir ...

But my onates love cichlids of all sizes - my first ornate had eaten 25(!!!) Jack Dempseys ... no-one wanted them to keep. Some of them were longer as the half size of the ornate.
My new ornate (i had given the old one to another keeper due to place problems to this time) killed the last cichlid (sajica) i had - also more than the half size ...

Beware of keeping cichlids & ornates!

Greetings

Uwe

my 8-9 inch sen tried to eat my 4 inch albino sen. He went after the albino right after it was introduced to the aquarium. Was able to rescue the albino with only maybe a tail nip. Unless the albino puts on some more size, I won't be trying it again. I have owned the albino for about 6 months and it only seems to have grown about an inch(still about 4 inches). The regular sen grew much faster. Hope the LFS didn't stunt him somehow

My 10" Ornate ate my 8.5" Ropefish =(

all very disturbing. i will watch my bichirs carefully even though it seems they are very slim and not much would fit in their mouth

i have a 4 inch short body albino sen that ate a 2 inch IT tiger

I have 10 inch ornate and a 5 inch NTTiger, should caution apply here also? the NTT looks very thick, not something i think would fit in the ornates mouth/stomach, but then again, all your posts has proven me wrong about what they could eat.

oh and i have a 4 inch loach in there also
