What's the maximum size possible for a male dovii in a tank/captivity?

We all know that male dovii could get up to 25"-27" in the wild, but do you think they could get at that size in captivity? What's the largest size you've ever seen them in captivity? And what's the maximum size you think they could get in captivity?

Not sure how old this particular fish is but it's 20in plus. Look at it compared to the dudes head, just gigantic!

Mel’s was reported as being approx. 27” - but Mel also stated it’s difficult to measure a fish that large when it’s behind glass. As far as I know he never netted his fish out to measure total length. I think 24”+ is a pretty safe bet.

Mel always undersizes his fish so you can assume it’s at least as big and most likely bigger than what he states.
