my black convict cichlid pair got into a fight with my jag and the jag swallowed the female chewed her up then spit her back out.the convict was missing almost all of its scales its left eye and its fins.it even died with its mouth open and the jag cut into the convict with its teeth and the cons guts were hanging out of its sides.then the male comes over and takes a little bite out of her so i took the male convict and put him in his own 30g tank with a 6" goldfish and a new female.i put the jag with a male RD and a female JD in a 100g tank.

my friends dared me to stick a feeder goldfish to a freezing c02 can. (its kinda like when you lick a freezing pole) and the c02 can was a customers waiting to be filled. half the goldfishes body was like GLUED to the can and i had to rip it off with a paper bag.

When I lived with my parents, I had my tank in the garage. 5" Jag, 5" midas, 4" fem JD and 6" male JD. All were happy, healthy fish that somehow got along great. Then one day, when I got home from the local race tracks, i got to look at my tank, and theres a ton of bubbles at the top of the water, so I looked a little closer. My fish were on there sides, not moving. First thing I did was find my 3 year old nephew and asked him what happened. He said: "I thought they wanted to take a bath." A few cups of laundry detergent and a few hours later, all fish were lifeless.

My 12" Dovii ate a 2" wide hole out of my 8" Chocolate Cichlid, it went through his spine and was even missing meat from the other side of his spine. When I found him he was still breathing, but he didnt make it through the night.

early on and out of my own ignorance lima shovelnose was basically snapped in half by red snakehead, literally beat the snakehead off of the lima with a net needless to say very unsuccessful in saving him....

1. 2 of the heater busted inside the tank stupid fish was hungry and decides to bit the heater got electricuted to death.

2. another heater story. likewise heater cracked stingray decides to swim in between got electricuted and got fried.

3. gar shoots out of the tank after being attacked by a fish went straight out the window.

in conclusion, glass heaters arent safe. for active fishes that like the peck on stuff.

Not sure if mine can really match up. Just a few things here and there.

Crab getting stuck in filter, survived the first 2 times and managed to somehow rip himself in half the third.
Gourami ate another fish, unfortunately I don't remember the species. Both died, we couldn't get the other fish out of the gourami's mouth, it was too far in and only the tail fins were sticking out, which we pretty much ripped up trying to pull out.

Last would be from high school. Wannabe gangster kids thought it'd be awesome to put chemicals into a fish tank project a friend had brought for a project. I wish I could remember what it was. Basically, all the fishes bled out their gills until they died. Horribly messy, to top it off we couldn't prove we knew who did it, even though we heard them talking about it in the cafeteria. They thought they were so cool for doing it, showing off to their friends and saying how the fish were wiggling around a lot after putting the chemicals in.

As depressed as this thread has made me, I must add....camalanus worms. Red worms sticking like spikes out of my male and female kribs' aholes. (Yes, the pair in my avatar pic.) Treat with fenbendizole(dog dewormer) if you ever have to deal with this. But catch it early--nasty swimming in crazy zig zag up and down all over town circles until they crash into the glass and meet their maker. Uh, it was bad.
