I would think 20 be enough for a single female con, ideally larger though, but you’re probably right about exos. It’s hard to keep them from killing each other in huge tanks and schools as is.

I have personally raised a 5.5” one and have seen a 7”-8” one so I disagree.

I don’t know how old the fish was as it was a trade in and I just so happened to be there when it was available. I would have gotten it if he could have been bought without the Oscar that was brought in alongside him but nope, the owner insisted they go together.

The ctenopomids get very large. They are from Africa and are often sold as African leaf fish. That makes more sense and they definitely get larger than 8 inches and way too big for a 20.
