Whats the most "Monster" Nano fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Another cool guy is the freshwater flounders, they stay under 5 inches if I’m correct, kinda count as a monster to me. Most are brackish though.

I’ve looked, the true freshwater ones are quite rare (and much pricier).

There’s a true freshwater anglerfish, incredibly rare and expensive. I think amazontank amazontank got one?

I never was able to get that anglerfish! Still want one for sure!
First fish that comes to my mind for a small tank like that would be freshwater lionfish. They are tough and full on predators.
If it's a 20 long butterfly fish are pretty cool and slam crickets!

The freshwater scorpionfish get over a foot I thought?

Hey everyone! Sorry for such a late response, kinda just made the post then forgot about it haha. I have a 20 Standard, not long. There are definitely some awesome fish that was stated in the discussion! I'm my personal opinion, I like the pea puffers a lot, I think they're pretty cool and I would love to get a few of those guys, especially if they have a strong personality. It's going to be a display tank in my office so I'm thinking about getting it completely planted as well. With their aggression, I'm thinking I can fit about 5 in the tank? My local aquarium has like 15 in a 10-gallon display tank and they seemed to do fine, not too sure about the statistics of it though. Similarly, what can they be paired with? I'd like to have a robust tank with a few other fish here and there to utilize the entire scape, low, middle, and high.
