I currently have a 2yr old Midas in a 72g bowfront by himself, and man, is this fish like a dog. He splashes when he wants to be fed. He follows me when ever i walk past the tank. On occasion, he even lets me pet him when he swims up to the top. Im thinking about getting another single specimen tank, and was wondering which other types of fish are as owner responsive as my Cintrinellum. I was looking into a male jaguar, but they dont seem very owner responsive.

jaguars are very responsive. You come close to the tank, and they try to kill you :D

The most responsive fish I have are my oscars. Although they aren't cichlids, FW puffers are extremely responsive and almost affectionate. What do they all have in common? They like eating above all else!

k your all naming glass bangers. Glass bangers like trimacs, Rd, doviis etc are not really responsive the OP asked for. These guys are just ***hole glas bangers who want to kill you if you don't feed him now.

If your looking for something like a responsive fish that is like a pet and recognizes you. I think a Oscar wins this 100% hands down. My Trimac charges at the glass no matter who comes to the tank. Although he is more calm with me since he knows I am the feeding hand. Although when my hand holds brushes and things he doesn't care and just bites the hell out of me.

Oscars though, seriously is a dog underwater. I pet mine at every feeding. when he's comfortable strangers can pet him. They can actually be taught tricks for food. Cool fish

He wants something comparable to his Midas. I don't see anything wrong with the suggestions. I'll admit though that Oscars are VERY friendly and owner responsive.

One question though...why did you call deevel79 OP??? hahahaha
(Sorry-:spam:)

I think he meant "original poster"....

I would go with oscars being the most responsive (including handling), but my turq. severum would give them a run for their money...

Burt:)
