I currently have a 2yr old Midas in a 72g bowfront by himself, and man, is this fish like a dog. He splashes when he wants to be fed. He follows me when ever i walk past the tank. On occasion, he even lets me pet him when he swims up to the top. Im thinking about getting another single specimen tank, and was wondering which other types of fish are as owner responsive as my Cintrinellum. I was looking into a male jaguar, but they dont seem very owner responsive.
i personaly have had great expieriences with the gold saum or more populary known the green terror as we would know it to be falsely but yes they have all the fish to opwer personality you would look for as well as brialiant coloration long life span. a single male would do well in a 55 altho a slightly bigger tank as always would be preffered.

The most responsive cichlids I had were oscars on a whole but also had 1 labiatus(red devil) 1 male cintrinelum(midas),1 male managuense & 2octofasciatus(dempsey) at different times.

I'd have to say Oscars too, My FH and GT are responsive but nothing like my Oscars, my Gold Severums while responsive are straight up a%^holes and bite any chance they get where like others have said I can pet and hand feed the Oscars.

Oscars have always been known for this, but....

my turq. severum would give them a run for their money...

Same here. He is at the glass anytime he thinks I'm coming by, following me around the tank. He'll eat out of my hand and has no problems letting me pet him. He's actually so comfortable with it, if I actually need him to move I have to give him a good push.

I'd have to say oscars. My Jack Dempsey is VERY owner repsonsive already, and so is my GT. My FM is just an a**hole

Fahaka Puffer, depending on size of tank your gonna setup.

to bad this is a cichlid thread!

oscars, all i've owned were and are all responsive. dovii would be 1st exept that many are really skittish until larger, but more responsive than O's as adults so there #2.

if this were a poll it would be a no contest!!!! O's hands down!!!!
