What's the one fish you KNOW you'll never ever ever ever be able keep?

I've always wanted a Fire Eel. The reason I can never have one is because my wife would never allow it. It reminds her to much of a snake. I would have to have a secret house with a secret fish tank and a secret Fire Eel. lol

I had the same problem. My wife didn't like eels because they look like snakes. I bought a small TT eel, and she always associated it with a worm (always called him "wormy"). As he grew, she was used to him, so looking like a snake never became a problem.

Well cant say much for the illegal fish cause most stores here still sell them regularly so i can still find them. its tough because i cant house a arapaima but doesnt mean ill never never own one. (atleast for 2 months ) ill probably never own a brackish fish.

Most likely Arapaimas. Tigrinus catfish would be on my list too as I've lost 3 of them in the past few years. They are a beautiful catfish and I do have the space for one but they just to delicate. I pretty much gave up on raising them.

Arapaima and snakeheads. I'd love to have both but the arapaima gets bigger than what I can house and snakeheads are illegal

I would have to say a large school of red bellys which I dont have room for a tank that size and for single fish it would have to be a red tail cat I really love them and I love their personalities too (eat everything I can fit in my mouth) but I sadly cannot house. 4 foot catfish in my tanks or any tank I can afford. But If any of you guys want rtc check out craigslist lol I was looking for a cheap tank pickup when I see around 16 adds for rtc getting too big for their tanks lmao people need to think before buying a man eating fish hahaha
