I'm a keen snakehead keeper and have just manage to breed my dwarf snakeheads. The fry are at the 1cm stage and doing great. I've been around to some of my lfs to see if they'd be interested in some FREE fry, with not one place interested! What is the point in trying to breed your stock? Now I have a great breeding pair which will probably breed again plus well over 100 fry but have nowhere to off load them. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and where do you guys sell your fry? Any advise would be welcomed.

I don't know of any Lfs that would want 1cm fry.
That's way to small.
Get them to about an inch or so then ask.
If worse comes to worse they can become free feeders.

Hi thanks for the reply. I wasn't trying to sell them at 1cm, just looking for places that I could take them after they'd become independent.... with zero luck upto now. The shops are eager to sell, but won't take back young from a 'breeder'. It's kind of dumped on my goal of trying to breed 4 or 5 different species. I can't see the point in spending time and money setting up tanks to breed if all I'm going to be doing is using the fry as feeders.
Channa are quite popular where I am. A group of 4 doesn't last long in the lfs. That's why I was disappointed when they wouldn't take the fry. They'd be able to sell them pretty quickly.
Channa are the only fish that I'm really interested in so I guess I'll have to find the market for them by advertising locally. I'll give craigslist a try as well. Thanks.
