Whats the strangest thing you ever caught while fishing?? Mine was a cray fish i caught on a hook while hook fishing for small sunfish, wasnt having much luck with a bobber so i switched to just a worm on a hook with a sinker, this was in a small stream under a bridge, after awhile i hadnt gotten a bite so i pulled in to check my bait, and locked onto that worm was a big cray, he wasnt about to let go of his lunch, needless to say i was surprised, and he is now in my 75 with a little castle he lives in. Only comes out when i feed frozen, fills up and goes back in. Sometimes he just sits in the opening in the castle and watches whats going on. Interesting addition to my tank, and semingly causes no harm.

ratfish, wolf eels, octopus... tons of stuff. The ratfish was probably the strangest as I have only caught one.

was fishing in a small creek for bluegills and sunfish, and caught a small 5 inch steelhead over that week we caught like 20 of them

Logperch, while no uncommon the circumstance in which I caught it was unusual. All the gear I had was heavy. Medium-heavy rod, 20lb test line and a huge hook. How I even realized the thing was on there is beyond me. Its the long fish with the black stripes.

a very kewl lookin fish even with my bifocals up close against the screen, thats part of what i enjoy about this hobby, never know what youre gonna get til you look in the net. Or in this case on the end of the hook. Did he actually bite or just hang on ??? :)

No, he actually bite it or perhaps I just snagged him on the mouth. Here is a better representative of the species.

Ratfish. Not the one I caught. Found in Pacific, normally in very deep water. I (well, one of my clients) caught one near Deer Harbor off of Yakobi island in S.E. Alaska. Pretty weird looking, but we see a lot of crazy crap up there.
