honestly, I find it hard to believe a tigerfish would penetrate a sturgeon, and the sturgeon could always jump
Big old fish for sure, but white sturgeon normally only live in fresh water when young or spawning. They're marine or estuarine for most of their life. So, like bull sharks, they can't really be considered to be a freshwater fish.
I haven't read the entire thread but anybody mention the Goonch? That's a couple hundred pounds of bad intentions. Wasn't that the face ripper on Monster Fish? I'd say that a pretty good candadate.
It's been brought up and appears to be a strong contender in this debate. It's certainly the top catfish.
