I have a a chinese perch just like you with this, I think. Is the fin slightly curled in any way?
My fish has his pectoral fin slightly curled and it looks like that marking on it. I am kinda baffled as to what it is. I dont believe its an injury, water quality is excellent, fish seems happy and healthy all the time, and it doesnt seem to bother the fish at all. I jsut thought it maybe was a birth defect. I kinda just accepted it.
Also another question, does you fish ever slide his body on the ground as if he is scratching his side?
I caught my fish doing a few short bursts on his side where this is and it looked like he had an itch, thats the only way I can describe it. It was odd behavior and I dont know what it was about or if its related to this thing on his fin.
