those things are crap, i had 2 break in under a year.
Before calling them crap, could you say how/why they broke? Just calling them crap and saying they broke isn't even worth a post IMO.

The koralias are the only powerheads I will use in my tank. High flow, low velocity... Seems pretty simple. Also, they use very little electricity.

The maxijets with the mods have been unreliable for me. They have tended to be noisy (i could hear it vibrating outside the tank!) and too direct for my tastes. I think that, instead of modding a substandard product, then why dont you spend a little more and get a product that was designed to work how you are running it out of the box.

they vibrate like holy hell, i can hear em 30 ft away. they vibrate due to the fact that the long impeller isnt supported by anything but the magnet, there is no end support to the impeller, their just supposed to float around the rod with no bushing. one lasted about 6 months, the other a few months. once this started they would also not restart on their onw sometimes, perhaps due to inferior magnets wearing out too fast, causing an imbalance and also the vibration. this was not due to sand or detrious either.

next time i need to post something, i'll be shure to run it by you first.

Thank you, I was just pointing out that saying a product is crap without giving how and why is not worth a post... No one can learn anything, other than that you think the product is crap, from a post like that.

I will only use these powerhead in my tanks also. They make a flow of water much wider than any other powerhead. As also stated earlier the powerconsumption is very low.
