Oh I forgot to add. I have been asked what I would feed big cats when I have my pond going. My reply has been that I would feed them small children. I would go on to explain how i would be doing the world a favor by reducing the population. Also how would be removing the problem of irresponsible parents and turning them back into irresponsible random people, so it sounds better. Oh how funny it is to see peoples reactions if you can say that to them with a straight face.

But yeah I don't buy the tuna cans that say "dolphin safe" I want a little dolphin in my sandwich.

Kinda appauled people flamed on feeding hotdogs...i feed turkey franks to my 24-36" fish almost exclusively and some are over 8 yrs old. I do soak them in vitachem sometimes but thats besides the point. Wild fish eat ducks and other water fowl all the time. Try keeping dozens of 30" fish full and tell me hotdogs arent a good choice. Shrimp and fish filets are a meager snack when u own large fish. Id have no problem feeding a dozen ducklings or 50-100 mice to my fish once a week if it was affordable. Whats the point of owning killers if u dont let them kill??? Not inhumane in any way, its simply the food chain. Varied diet is always best, that includes just about anything our animals are willing to take in from other fish to mammals to small children

I dont feed mice but could care less if someone else does. My family is in japan were they use feeders all the time where the fish are bigger and better looking and breed more species than in america and they use feeder goldfish all the time. Yet in the us you always claim this is no good and will kill your fish its a lie. No fish should be feed non healthy unquarentiened food thats the problem not the feeders or the mouse almost every store ive been to in this country dont quarentine anything they sell let alone the feeders because everything is about money. Keeping wild animals in captivity is cruel period zoo or circus. Zoos use every excuse in the world but its 90% profit. No one should release a fish in the wild but if u did the fish would not run back to u and wait to be put in your tank,no matter how big your ego your tank doesnt compare to the wild. I have imported lots of dogs from south america and have many friends there the fish eat a wide range of food. The pellets most of u use have all kind of dyes fillers and other garbage fish dont want or need. You can feed your fish mice if it is healthy and presented in the correct way. Im 40 years old not a lil kid who can be swayed because the mfkrs dont like what i say. I have friends who have hundreds of acres in the jungle and ltfao at some of the things i tell them i here on this board. And there is a bunch of backside kissing that goes on on this board

Your ego is so big you dont understand anything my statement wasnt for you to put your fish back,or to say zoos are better than the circus or even to feed mice just to show everything we do is considered cruelty by someone so no need to judge just to take care of your animals to the best of your ability not to try to command everyone to do it your way. But that what this country is all about the freedom to be a follower.

I don't see why you need to get so angry and defensive unless these opinion relate to you in some way.
I honestly could careless what you do with YOUR fish, but me personally, I wouldn't feed my fish anything more than live earthworms. I just see too much risk with other live food options. And this isn't to soon hock personally, but everyone that this applies to.

Ughh, you're so not with the program. The point of captivity is to imitate the wild as best you can, minus the things in the wild that make it unhealthy, like predators and disease.
And zoos can be pretty bad, but they dont beat/tase their animals like circuses do. Comparing them is ignorant.

Your statement make no sense how can you imitate the wild without predators. In the wild predators eat a large % of sick diseased prey. Predators mainly prey on the sick and the weak. When a lion looks at a herd of zebra he first looks for a sick or weak victim. A healthy predator should have a strong imune system. Man no longer understands the balance of nature where only the strong survive. We want everything to survive and nature was never intended to be that way. You also have no idea what zoos do to animals behind closed doors, jump on the circus because the media has put out bad images of the circus. The animals dont want to be in a zoo or a circus.

Wow some of your responses are crazy.

@ soon hock you seem a bit offended by the way your responded to others posts. Look the a difference in doing it for the health of your pet and just for kicks to watch animals suffer. I used to keep reptiles and had no problem feeding my snake rats and bunnies and I use feeders Goldies and worms for my fish. It's the circle of life but when man decideds to play god and feed their pet crazy things it turns to a whole different ball game. Like I stated in my opening post there are fish who would have no problem eating a mouse or small bird lizards and pretty much anything else.
