My silver aro, 11 inch, is acting funny. all he dose is sit in one spot on the top of the water. he has little slime like strings and stuff sticking off him and he has his fins tucked close to his body. Plz help i am worried about him and I don't wana lose another Aro. :help2: :help2: :help2:

Dude..its time to whip out your water test kits!! check for the water PH as well. Slime and initial clouding of the eye is due to ill water condition and the aro is in its stressed stage.

I suggest you perform at least 30% water change immediate.
 
Del your right it is the 29g. I have a aquaclear 70 filter on it so it has ample filtration. The temp is 74 - 75 degres. The only test kit i have is for salt water. will that work???? And his eyes are perfectly clear.
 
not sure but it was made for a 10g. I do have one more but it for my 5g and that only has mollies, rosy reds, and some gold fish.

Shoefreak03 i can't put them in the biggest tank. the RTC was beat up in that tank look at the pic. and the Aro has been introduced into the 100g 4 times and each one the oscars attacked him and gave him some natsy scale wounds. i wish i could put both in the 100g but i have to buy a 240 and that is what i am saving for. I just need a job.
 
I think ya gotta slow down before buying these fish.

Maybe you could put a divider in your big tank? Then seperate when fish are grown up (or when /if they die???). :shakehead
