I'm sorry, I may have interpreted this wrong, but people bring in their dead fish? Wth is wrong with people??? Do they expect a refund or what???

Staff member: "how may I help you today Sir?"
Guy: "my fish died"
Staff member: "that's no good, do you know what caused it?"
Guy: "I duno, take a look and tell me!" *flops dead fish onto counter*
I mean I get what your saying when it's the persons fault but in some cases it makes sense to try and get your money back or even store credit like I've taken a beat up jardini back after it didnt survive the car ride home (it was in a tank with a slightly larger jardini who was beating the crap out of it at the store.) sure if it would have been in my tank for a week or so then died that would have been a different story but it cost me a decent amount for a smaller fish so I wasn't supper happy about throwing away around 100 dollars. I returned him and ended up snagging the more agressive one as a result, which was kinda stupid of me.

I can understand that. I had a bit of a "blonde moment" with my earlier comment. As I said I'd never really thought about it to much, I've never been in a situation like yours so I've never thought about how/why you'd go about getting a refund on a fish you'd purchased.

On a side note, by joining mfk I've learned things I'd never thought about learning. :D

My petco- where I got my arowana- doesnt usually have much of a selection at all but you bet your britches I scooped that fish right up. Been happily living here ever since. I do wish they carried a larger selection though the ones near me usually dont take great care of their fish- always find dead ones in the tank and the salt water tanks are always dreadful. I get supplies from there but I now get my fish elsewhere. Still excited about that grab a year ago. Super lucky to have seen it. An aro for like 15 bucks? YES SIR

Wow that's nice I took note when I was in the store they were still asking 40 for a silver and 80 for a golden jardini so not any great deals like you got your lucky for $15 I'd buy silvers all day, considering I could get for for the price of 1 at my LFS.

Ahh yep. A local chain store has a 7 day guarantee if the fish is put in an established tank, but I've never thought about how you'd have to "prove" that your fish carked it.. I guess taking the fish in would be the easiest way to go about it. Thanks for the "face palm" moment. :D
Yeah man don't worry about it I hope you never have to take anything back it's an awkward feeling and honestly the way they check this by asking you to bring in some of your established aquriums water they will then test it for ammonia, nitrates things like that. They wanted to do this with my fish however when I told the guy I never even opened the bag he just put his kit away. Lol
