Whats up with Rays and Brains?

My rays are in the 20" range and its only a matter of time before they get a fish. Prego females seem to do it the most. My big bala sharks seem to last the longest and my big CK

I may have spoken to soon... I got home late last night and caught my female marble in the act... she had an altifrons pinned down, I got her off it and while the geo seemed disoriented he was alive and had a head.

Woke up this morning to this...

Now the funny part here, is i have not been feeding silversides for the last few weeks as the frozen ones were coming in to the lfs huge and i didnt think the rays would eat them at that size.....

Thoughts?

I feed my rays a mix of silversides and shrimp. They eat the silversides entirely. I think it is something they lack in their diet. Shrimp have lots of protein but may be missing essential nutrients. Feeding whole smelts the ray gets everyting - skin, flesh, internal organs, bones, brains etc. I doubt there is any nutrients missing.That being said, I dont keep my rays with smaller fish.
