in Rocking Horse racnh in upstate ny, my Dad had a 2 ft Carp go thru 50 lb test line in a few seconds on a heavy saltwater baitcaster. They are tough, sometimes tackle-shy, found everywhere from deep cold lakes to shallow swampy rivers, can even be caught on the fly, and are a handful once hooked. Also good when fried/breaded.
