It says tetratec ap80 115volts? :O
I bought my tank used, along with the air pump.

The pump came with a ton of extra tubing(where the air travels) that I wrapped around my stand, would that make the pump weaker? :O

The longer the airline, the more pressure needed to push air through it. Cut your airline to the minimum length needed.

Make sure you have your check valve turned the right direction also.

If it was turned the wrong way, would any air come out at all? Seems the pressure would pop the airline tube off, but then...I've never tried it :grinno:

You need a check valve between your bubble wand and the pump to keep the water from siphoning down the airline into your air pump. It's a small round valve that has a tapered insert inside that you can see through the clear plastic. You should have the tapered end of this pointing away from your air pump. If you don't have one then you need to get one.

i vote on stronger air pump. recently had similar issue.

now i wish i had asked this before i went shopping for a new pump so i will ask for you:D

WTF do the different numbers mean on air pumps? why can't the manufacturers come up with a standard like on water pumps. so many cu ft at x depth? :irked:

that said doesn't hurt to go big as you can always use valves or find other uses for the excess

It's probably the excess airline causing it. I'm guessing there's not a check valve connected.

The Whisper air pumps come with your check valve. But there is only one in the box I believe. It also comes with a "T" connector and some regulators to adjust your airflow to your air stones or bubble wands. They are very quiet and not too expensive.
