Mine were getting this.

They would blow up big like that and then just go down.

Behaviour is normal and all survived. Every now and again 1 or 2 will get it again but they always seem to go down with no dramas.

I think this is getting quite common in datnoids.

Weird, i havent noticed anything like this in any of my other Dats, and This one looks worse every time i see him... I hope he makes it.. but who knows...

His jaw looks deformed now...I hope the swelling goes away...

Anyone else see this before?

I was told melafix will cure these lumps or bumps.... How long should i see healing??

And how do i prevent this in the future?

I could be wrong because I dont use the stuff, but I think Melafix only helps with damaged fins, cuts, ect. If this is some type of bacterial thing or illness, I dont believe it will help. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I agree with JD, salt and heat

Swelling like that in a specific area makes me think parasite.

I thought parasite too, but howww? Bloodworms, and worms... Feeders once in their lives...

Possibly a bad worm or a parasite took months and months before showing any effects...if it came from the feeder.
