I have an HP Paviliondv9000 that I purchased used.I've had it for a few months and it's been great up til now.I've noticed that it seems to be not as fast as it was. When I click on a thread title to open and view it there can now be up to almost five minutes before the thread appears on the screen when it used to show almost instantly. Is there anything I can do to fix or change this?....I'm thinking about taking it in to a repair place but I wanted to ask here first.

scan for malware

put it in the microwave to warm it up. my pc acts up in the fall and winter due to the weather. i dont have windows and stuff. it gets very cold. or hug or sit on the laptop if you dont have access to power electricity.

Oh now you want to be helpful?..Where were you when that gun show snuck up on me and came and went?:irked:

When you got it did you do a factory reset?? Also buy norton 360. It will get rid of any malware, spyware viruses anything anywhere on your computer

buy an external hard drive and save any important files (pictures, documents, etc...). double and triple check you saved everything you need. then reformat the hard drive on your computer. after, you will need to reinstall any programs (Microsoft office, mozilla firefox, itunes, etc...) and move all your pictures and documents back from the external to your computers hard drive and then it will be like starting with a brand new computer.

Download crapcleaner to clear your cache. That'll speed your rig up a ton. A defrag on a regular schedule will help performance, too. Get Diskeeper as an improvement over the OS defrag tool.

Biggest waste of money in the computer world.

Edit: I'm sorry, That was harsh. Anyone using Norton 360 should d/l Avast Free and run a Boot Scan after doing a full system scan with Norton 360. I'd bet my BB that Avast finds something Norton missed.
