About a month ago i got a new pbass from my LFS. Right now hes only about an inch and a half. Ever since i got it, it has been really scared, and hides all the time. I knew that was normal for when i just put him in his new tank, put hes still hiding. Although he hides, he still eats like crazy. Im feeding him frozen bloodworms right now and he attacks them like live food. After hes done eating, hes goes back into hiding. Right now i only have him in a 5 gallon cube, but will soon be going in to a 55, then a 240 (8-2-2ft) for when he gets bigger. Just wondering if this is normal for its size or if somethings wrong with him.

they all do that he'll be fine give him time until they grow a lil bit more

well i would get him a bigger tank cylce it then see what happens...IMO

Your fish is hiding because it is scared to death. At that size he would be in a large school, so he feels very insecure right now. Put in some other fish that arent going to be aggressive towards him. Like some Barbs or medium sized goldfish. Something basic. It will give him a ton of confidence. This method is called "Dithers". The dither fish will show him that it is safe to come out, and he will be out and about in no time.

It may be the small tank and it can also be the lack of other fish (dithers) & bass..

I just had the dither fish method going, until he started attacking all the other fish. I was using guppies from my pond, but ill put them back with the pbass. Their only guppies, and i got hundreds of them.

Thanks for the info

try to get him a bigger tank asap...and the dithers is a good idea too since hes the only fish in the tank

put in a bigger tank ASAP...
and get some proper dithers, not guppies.
they probably look like food to him...
more bass is always better...maybe some silver dollars.
