WHATS WRONG WITH MY PEACOCK BASS?

About a month ago i got a new pbass from my LFS. Right now hes only about an inch and a half. Ever since i got it, it has been really scared, and hides all the time. I knew that was normal for when i just put him in his new tank, put hes still hiding. Although he hides, he still eats like crazy. Im feeding him frozen bloodworms right now and he attacks them like live food. After hes done eating, hes goes back into hiding. Right now i only have him in a 5 gallon cube, but will soon be going in to a 55, then a 240 (8-2-2ft) for when he gets bigger. Just wondering if this is normal for its size or if somethings wrong with him.

Yeah put him in a bigger tank. 2x1x1 would be good at that size. Put lot's of plants in there and it should help his confidence.

Dont worry about the tank anymore, i got him in his own 30 gallon right now with some big female guppies with him as dithers. Already see a huge difference!!

here's mine in a 29g. one is by the filter that other is about 3 inches above him by the heater. and they are by themselves. it's just young fishes nature to hide.
