Where the gators are
Alright so hes been pink for about 2 weeks now. Ever since i put him in his new tank hes been like this. I finally got him eating and when the lights are out hes very active. But why is he pink????:confused:

Nitrates under 20
nitrites at 0
water hardness around 200 (i think hard to tell)
chlorine at 0
Alkalinity moderate
PH 8.0 (cant keep it lowered, sand just brings it back up)
water temp 80-82

diet... doesnt even look like same fish in the 2 pics. looks way too dark in the before pic, and looks somewhat normal to me in the other pics. can you get a better pic? doesnt look pink to me. (ps give that fish in the middle pic a week)

Are you talking about it's white strip is turning pink or the whole body? Because my RTC has his white stripes turn different colors to what he eats.

all 3 of those pics are of the same fish. And sorry i dont have a good camera thats the best i can do. The top pics look a little darker than he actually is. In person he looks horrible like hes sick or something. :(

no his whole body is pink and he never had that white stripe before he used to be all black. ive feed him the same in both tanks, tiliapia.

whats the substrate like in the old tank? could be hes changing lighter because its a lighter substrate, my fish used to do this when id take him from black sand to white gravel, could also be hes still stressed. how long do u leave the lights off for, when id go out of town id leave the lights off for the weekend and when i came back hed be lighter...

as long as hes acting normal i wouldnt be worried

that other fish looks like a red belly piranha also the red tail looks normal to me just google red tail cat and check out the different pics like I said and someone else said it looks like a normal red tail:chillpill:

Na its a Red Bellied Pacu. Better not be a piranha or ill be in some serious trouble. There iliegal here in florida.

IMO. The fish don't even look the same. The first to picks the white stripe going along the side is very destinctive where on the original it's barely there. I think it's just changing from the substrate. I had black rocks in the bottom of mine then went to glass bottom he got a little lighter but it wasn't that huge of a change.
