It's odd, the line of damage across the top of the fish doesn't appear anywhere near the lateral line?
that's what was throwing me off. There may be two problems. One is def HITH.

You need to hit them with some anti-parasite med(s), like PraziPro a/o Jungle Hole N Head (or something else with Metronidazole). It would be best if you could quarantine them in a smaller tank.

man!....how the hell am i supposed to do a water change with my pond!? these guys are fed twice a day on prawn meat......and some fish meat.....its an out door pond, so how wld i be able to raise temp? What are the ideal water parameters? is HITH lethal? its both pitting and scaring.

it looks like its time to go fishing...... catch them out and quarantine them.... as far as hith... yes it is lethal!!! dont know it you know what hith means.... (Hole In The Head) so do what you can!!!

ok...here is BIG ASS PROBLEM....technically....those arent my fish......they're my dad's.......and he's too stubborn to get a tank.....and fishing...wld result in me catching the Pacu and Brycon once too many times.....i'm soooo screwed.

if you dont have a tank for them, then you'll just have to leave them be.
try to bump up the temp with heaters or something.
stuff pellets into the shrimp.

You'll notice a huge difference if you will get the water up to 32 degrees. Definitely get it up to at least 30 degrees if nothing else.

While the fish are recovering, soak some pellets in liquid vitamins such as Centrum Liquid (you'll have to see what is available near you). Then stuff the pellets into the prawns by using a narrow knife to make a deep pocket in the head end of the prawn.

ok....thanks alot guys.......i'll have to figure out how to get the water temp up......who wld have thought that a pond in the tropics wld need heaters.....
