ermm... mayb some pros here could be the judge of it? is banjar red- yellowtail aro?
live and learn new stuff everyday not trying to mislead anyone..
:)

Yes, they are different, lots of people confuse them because of the similar name.
-Banjar red (or G2 red) is a hybrid of green and SR aros.
-Banjar yellow tail is not a hyrbid, but a naturally found aro variation. There is some debate as too whether it is a variation of the green arowana or separate species. The name "banjar" comes from the area where the YT aro is found, for some reason the name stuck and people used it to refer to G2 reds as well.

I agree with him, but Banjar Red(Grade2 Red) is a crossbred of Grade1 RedxGreen. Also people don't call them Banjar Yellow Tail, just Yellow Tail. My guess on why they call it Banjar Red is because they look like similar to YT when full grown and YT are found in Banjarmasin,Indo and other part of Indo(I think).

Isn't crossbreed and hybrid the same thing? And yes hao, some n00bz do call YT Banjar YT :D

Aside from the gill curl and y/t vs. banjar question, looks like an old (as in senior citizen) bullet head imo.

They do get old and wrinkley if we keep them long enough.
