dont think the figure 8 turtle is photoshop... i know for a fact that it was a thing back in asia... turtle farms will tie the turtle shell on purpose to make a figure 8 turtle.

I have seen pics of these before, very disturbing.

That photo is freaky. It would seem to me that the plastic would stretch and snap before it gets that far... Poor little guy... Why would someone do that intentionally??

I've seen turtles (sea turtles and FW turtles) in that shape from entanglement. Even had a few manatees come in looking like a figure 8.

Do they ever recover? Or are they like that forever?

the turtle is fresh water not salt and the 6 pack ring should be white from the sun and the turtle would most likely die from organ complications

Both those photos are red earred sliders, looks like they photoshopped the red on the head of the first one though, but you can still see where it should be.
