Looks and sounds like a healthy flowerhorn to meSaw this guy or gal at the pet-NO. He kinda looked unhealthy to me and smashed into the glass repeatedly until I moved away. Needless to say he's still there. Poor fish.

Usually petco will do $3-10 for a rehoming. I bet if someone offered 10 or so they would take it, especially if you know the people.I'm just taken aback by the price. And that a big box store would do that.
No, they take in fish all the time and rehome them . They just donate the money to animal charities Sometimes they have knowledgeable people, the one near me as a couple of fairly experienced fish keepers thereBut they don't know where exactly the fish came from and most of the workers wouldn't know a sick fish if it was crapping blood. If they turn around and sell a sick animal, aren't they liable?
