Free water...great well... although it cost large dollars to get the well dug and then have this state of the art that i do not understand water system installed... takes out all the minerals and iron... but just for us ... and you can switch back and forth to either soft water or natural hard water for the fish...takes out the bacteria if any...with UV light... etc etc..so thank goodness the water is free..between the horses and fish:nilly:i would never want a water bill

They charge for incoming AND outgoing? That sucks!

nah, there is usually either a meter coming in or going out. The going out isn't used as much around these parts much anymore as it's so easy to beat by dumping all your excess water in the yard.

In LA we have DWP (department of water and power) which combines water usage, sewage (outgoing water), electric usage and garbage pickup. we get billed every other month and ours averages about $700 or so for the two months. living in the valley it gets pretty hot so we have to run our sprinkler system daily as well so that adds up. generally our water and electric break downs are about the same. 250 or so each for 2 months. then the sewage, garbage and associated taxes/fees account for the difference. in winter time we dont have to run the sprinklers so much so it can go down as low as 500 for 2 months.

thats a really good idea to try and not let as much water go down the drain as possible. i'm going to look into that...

All you people with free water i say boooo to you. I pay around
$100 - $140 bi monthly.

oh i forgot to add that i have 385 gallons worth of tanks going and i do weekly water changes ranging from 30-50%. i also have a pool which needs topping off every week so that adds to the usage as well.
