I'm a beginner with my H. malabaricus. I'd love to hear anyone's experience/stories.

Anyone ever been bit?
Tankmates or solo?
Years kept?
Pros/cons to other similar fish you have kept

So far this is the first fish I have owned that I have to be careful with hand and arm in the tank(due to the teeth). It always thinks I'm feeding it and gets in strike mode.

I'm siked about this fish!

I have a Purple Wolf much milder personality and never tried to bite. Got him from a great friend and MFK member about 4 yrs ago.

Jeff has a black wolf from Suriname. I think it’s a different looking wolf compared to general curupira. Maybe a different sp.

It’ll go with ur fish but make sure the wolf is small and grows with the polys. Esp if they are upper jaws.

Should be fine with the other fish.

Smaller wolves in the erythrinus are easier to handle but no aggressive tankmates.

Most wolves will sit and not actively swimming till food comes.
