I usually go weightless cause I get most of my bites as its is floating down unless im fishing deeper water then I weight it lightly so it will sink more. I have pretty cheap hooks but if you keep a metal file hand you can make them super sharp
i have some like this with the wire but it still gets snagged a bit never thought of using them wacky lol
