I started out with the entire collection of Roman architecture pieces. I admit, I actually liked them with black gravel and background. But I have ultimately switched over all my tanks to driftwood, rocks and live plants. I still have a few artificial plants in my community tank just to add some color, but they will be going soon too.

sand/rocks/driftwood are my fav.

+1 although artificial DW and rocks can also be useful in certain situations.
