What's your oldest fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
this old girl was out of her cave tonight, so I thought why not give her a little mfk attention. I'm not exact on her age but she is at least 12-14 yrs old. (Came from the pet store roughly 04?)
Survived two separate severe losses of fish and been from tank setup to tank setup over the years, and is currently the queen bee of my mbuna tank

So what's your guys oldest fish? Post em up
That's one beastly syno. Great job bringing her up right. My oldest fish are a pair(1 male/1 female) of 9 year old Trachycorystes cats that I got from Infinite Aquatics back when I had just started here on the forum. IMG_8353.JPG

Beastly indeed.

My syno cat is only +-4" so still a ways to go. Very shy though and only comes out at night or for food

I've rescued an Oxydoras niger at 34" who had spent 25 years in a 6'x2'x2' and an average 0.25-0.5 ppm ammonia. It's been 2 years in one of my 4500 gal 13'x13'x4.5' now.

First photo in my setup and two more photos from prior owner, nice people, really, just didn't know better:

If you have a large enough tank try a small group of them. They tend to be more social. I have a group of 6 in that tank
