  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
you should have ate more dirt or played with the dog more. having the flu once is too much. you have not developed the immunity

funny you say that. my gran was a nurse on a childrens ward and years ago she said something like this would come along because we are getting too clean these days.
more kids have multiple ailments than ever before and she put it down to parents cleaning everything with bleach instead of just a wipe down to clean muck off like my mum did and hers.
i used to eat dirt when i was little and everyday, rain or shine, i was knee deep in soil with my dog.
now, i very rarely get a cold and ive only had flu once.

so true.

My son was outside yesterday. He's 19 months old. I looked over at him and he had what looked like chocolate all over his face.
.....
it was mud.
He was eating dirt.

i just shook my head and sighed. :grinno:

all the germ freaks out there who disinfect everything every time it hits the floor and practically have their children living in bubbles... they need to let their kids live a little.

Immune systems dont build themselves. They need help from germs!!

lol.

our nephew gets the slightest speck of dirt wiped off him and he is always ill but our niece (wife's other bro) has a dog and she gets unbelievably messy yet she barely has a sniffle.

My aunt was one of the confirmed cases in Ontario. Shes doing much better now. Almost seems like a typical flu to me.

It's not even funny how much I agree with the statements on the past couple pages about cleanliness/paranoia...
I am just about one of the least "clean" people around. I eat food that, quite frankly, isn't meant to be eaten, off the floor, ground, grass, whatever. Whenever I'm bored, do I stay inside to play video games? Nope...
I usually go outside, climb some trees, mess around with dirt, rocks, whatever I can get my hands on.
Guess what? I usually get sick maybe once a year, if even that, and even then it's usually only a slight fever.

The supposed recession hasn't hit me or anyone i know, so the media must be making that up too. ;)

lol going down my local high street you wouldnt think so with the amount of people out shopping.

as usual the media are blowing it up to ridiculous proportions, the way they have been going on its worse than the plague. it responds well to a drug that most countries have good stocks of and if your fit and healthy then it will likely be no worse than a regular flu.
