Whats your rarest catch?

22" Yellow eye rockfish. Caught 25 miles off the west of Vancouver Island. I caught it when I was 13 and had such a hard time pulling it up but it was such a reward to eat it!!! :) Apparently they don't normally get that big...I'll dig out some pics later. :)

Also caught a 30" Striped Bass in Nova Scotia, but that one's small...

While not rare, there is nothing better to me than pulling in a monster walleye while shorefishing for bass in spots that you'd never expect a walleye to be.

I've caught walleye while I was fishing flooded timber in 5' or less of water. My target species was also bass and they suprised the hell out of me lol. I've also caught walleye in 5-10' of water (you could see the bottom over almost 10') in the middle of a sunny day, so I guess its not always true what they say about walleye being low light fish...like other predatory fish, they do what they must to follow the baitfish around.

As for my rarest catch, I would have to say a 3' cornetfish while flyfishing in Hawaii or a small (<10") cod I caught flyfishing in Alaska. While not exactly rare, I've never heard of either species being caught on fly gear before.

It's the rarest Billfish in the world, so you killed it so you can hang it on a wall?
Better he caught it than a trauler's bycatch...
And as for my rarest fish, 18" crappie.

well i just got back from lake powell and we caught 2 more walleye, this time while trolling in about 75 foot of water for striped bass?!? they are just some bad A fish
