  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ive seen hookds rust but id say that when you guthook a dish the stimach acid will break it up pretty easily

its not right get the hook out or kill the fish and do somthing usefull with the corpse like chum or eat it ect.
just imagine if a turtle eats a fish with a hook in it i'd feel pretty bad
i feel bad just getting snapping turtles on the hook ive got the hook out of them every time and they make it with just a small hole in there mouth ill take the risk of missing a finger.

I've never had a problem with leaving a hook in the fish, Just grew up thinking that it'd rust in a few days.

ok here is the real test some1 with a spare tankk catch like 5 bluegills n put a few hooks thru there mouth cartilidge

The real test has already been done and guess what. The hook doesnt rust out. The tissue around the hook dies and the fish rejects it by the new tissue growth pushing it out. Much in the same way a splinter works its way out.

I caught Peacock bass with a rusty hook barbed end in his butthole. I barely touched it and it fell out. So its up to you to figure that on eout.

I agree with that lake I fish at after 90 minutes or so the turtles come big softshells few smaller sliders and my fishing at that point goes to lures as dont want to hook one with roaches or earthworms.

The softshells follow the floater to get the bait thus lures are only option . I would feel terrible if I hooked one

i believe the hooks dont rust out, but rather get ejected by the fish's body... ive been fishing my whole life and its very rare to see a fish with a hook in it... when i do its still a perfectly good hook and has little signs of wear on it..

i also use a size 3o hook to feed my piranha.. ive been using the same hook for over 3 months now and its still as sharp as the day i took it out from the package.. gamakatsu hooks ftw...

the hook is too big to hook the piranha.. i use them for very large catfish
