What's your thought on the AC-110

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have an AC 110 on a 75 in conjunction with a Whisper 60. It flows a ton of water. The only gripe I have about it is if the water level come down a bit due to evaporation the flow of water into the tank can be a bit turbulent for smaller fish. If I ever buy another HOB it will be a 110.

Only beef that I have had with roughly a dozen AC110's is that I have cracked numerous plastic bins in them.

A little duct tape, one is hanging on the side of my water basin in the laundry room for holding supplies. One is hanging from my steel outdoor 6'x2' beverage troth holding jars of Habanero and Cyane peppers for steaming crabs!

My favorite HOB by far.
1. So easy to clean - very few parts & they come with a media tray that you can lift out of the filter. I run only sponges in mine & squeeze them out with every WC.
2. Cheap. $65ea & free shipping on Amazon was the cheapest I found.
3. Move alot of water.
4. Quiet too - they can work their lid loose sometimes & it starts to rattle, but just press it down and the noise is gone

Hate them. lol pita to clean and maintain compared to my penguins/emperors. I know a lot of people love them but for me I have had nothing but problems w/ 'em.

I heard the AC 110 is a great filter. I am looking for a new filter on my 75 gallon cichlid tank.

Two ac110's and a canister filter is a perfect combo for any 75-100g.........And when there is a new tank to be cycled, having these three average powerful filters will bw useful in starting the bacterial colonizaTION of any new tank...........

U know what my thought of an ac 110 is??? It's wonderful that works wonderful wonders on my 55 gallon. Haha yea I like the ac 110 that much bro
