rubber lip pleco. my crayfish cleaned better. I even saw my crayfish more. The rubber lip pleco was killed by my cichlids about 2 weeks after being in the tank.

When i was a kid i remember buying feeder goldfishes for 1.25 each. I bought like 6 of them, they were like 2-3 inches. Major major major major rip off, they are worth like what 20 cents each?? If only the lfs worker who sold me those fishes still works there..."POW RIGHT IN THE SUCKER"
11 inch flowerhorn drop off to store, was really sick , figured I could make him better and I couldnt, spent 80 bucks on meds and months of waiting... I tried my best..... mental note always buy healthly!!!
not my worst but another bad purchased. I thought it would be a good idea to breed some Malawi cichlids, so i bought 4 colonies, great fish, but all with 1 male, never the less, it's a decent purchase. what made it a bad purchase is the seller, decided, the $300 is for colonies, and tank only, no heater, no light. so I had to scramble to get a heater, in doing so I killed 8 of my little petricolas, and 3 red tops. the seller has offer me a colony of OBs, but I've decided I want nothing to do with Matt again. so i am getting rid of all my malawis'
My husband bought a flagtail porthole cat. This wouldn't be such a bad purchase, except I just bought a 125gal, and am putting my 12in. gold ck, 10in. syno, and trying to grow out my green sev to where my ck won't eat him to put in there. Max size on that catfish is 5 inches.
I could kill him for buying a snack sized catfish when I'm trying to thin my herd.

Well since this thread is still going I figure Ill ad mine.
Clown knife. boutght him at 2" he ate small guppy fry grew him to 14" inhaling 5 dozen goldfish a week. He killed everything in my tank! Even my beloved lace fin cat who was 8" at the time.
My second Exodons. I could not keep them alive for more than a month in a species specific tank. Plus they were the biggest pussies when I got them home. the thing is I fed them 2 dozen guppies at the store and they ate no prob.
Oh and I wil throw in ID shark. Dumbest fish ever had 3 all three scaredy cats. one jumped out. One starved too scared to eat. one which was 6" at the time and swam into the glass shattering his spine.
