what's your worst purchase

Jurapari cichlids.

Demanding and spoiled brats. With the care I gave them, they should have been thriving under my care.
I got them because I wanted a mouth brooding cichlid, little did I know that these demanding brats are lucky to be alive and never get around to breeding.
The most expensive foods I could give them that were available.
Large weekly water changes.

I can't believe anyone ever buys these anymore. They are such terrible horrible fish that I can't see why anyone would ever want to have them.
AND if someone wants a fish that needs high maitenance pampering, there's far pretteir fish then a jurapari cichlid.
I wouldn't take a jurapari cichlid if someone paid me, OK maybe if they paid me enough to put up with them....

weird, My Jurapari are very low maintenance and happy fish...kinda boring, but doing well.

when i got my first 10 gallon tank, i had no clue where was a good place to buy fish, what cycling a tank ment, or anything, i thought it was just set up and enjoy, ignorance is bliss... i went out with my dad(i was 10) and bought 2 bala sharks, 1 needle fish(ment for brackish water) and 3 tiny angelfish.. the needle fish ate the 4 others, and then died of ammonia poisoning.. lesson learned

Another horrible one is when I was a newbie ( ashamed to admit this) I bought a tiny baby iridescent shark.

Probably my peacock eel... I never see him but my gf always does, its like as soon as I leave her house he comes out. but by worse would be a tetra water filter that I spent 70 bucks on that I cant use anymore because its to loud from it sitting on my stand cuz I cant put it on the fishtank so the water falls like 5 inchs till it hits water and it kept my gf up all night running to the bathroom to pee lol. so I had to make yet another purchase on a Fluval U4 underwater filter which is very quiet and really nice!

o so many gambols over the years with sick fish and unnone sinide drops. but one of the worst had to be my 200$ green angler that ate a 50$ trigger and stabbed him self into my long spin urchin when he took the trigger in dont think he realized he was that close. needless to say nether the trigger or the angler survived only had them for 2 days

worst purchase i can think of right now (although im sure ive had multiple) was when i used to have a 90G saltwater tank, i bought a pink anthias and as soon as i put him in the tank my undulated trigger fish jumped at its neck, and its eyes. i had that fish for less than a minute.

mine was Neon Tetras...
bought 6 from lfs..by the time i reached home..1 of them died in bag itself..and one of them started to nip other neons ..and eventually all of them died within 3 days..
everything was fine..my water parameter was excellent...all of my other tank mates were looking excellent..!!
