what's your worst purchase

My worst purchase....maybe a damselfish for a 10g? That severely limited my options.

But my worst catch was 7 feral Jewel Cichlids from Florida (Hemichromis letourneuxi) for the same reason...In a 55 gallon. A while after getting rid of them I tried one of the blue ones, and it didn't work either...

Worst was a Salvini cichlid pair for a 90 liter community tank, was told by person at pet shop they would be fine in there. Big mistake, the male preceded to kill everything in there in the space of a few hours. Found out later how violent the little monsters could be.

This was before the internet was as big, so finding any sort of info about vatious fish was quite hard. Learnt my lesson though - I never buy anything until I've researched it.

I regret buying all fishes that died on me. Mostly from LFS that take trade ins, those tanks are ick infested.

Also fishes that have been killed. Its expected I guess some survive and some don't when you have big CA/SA cichlids. My 5" Jewel was my first cichlid over 2 years ago and he survived with many larger than him...I am very proud of him being a new father

I bought a chinchilla for my GF for valentines 2 yrs ago. I kicked her out 1 year ago and of course, I was forced to take "Fred" . The little bastard throws wood chips everywhere and my LMB won't eat him.

Thats just funny, I don't care who you are!!

a 'freshwater' moray eel. still have him, don't know what to do with him. was an impulsive buy. still regret getting him.
