brought a fang fei from a fish store was huge in a really small tank when i put it in my tank it wouldn't eat and eventually died poor 100 dollars down the garbage
baby bullhead catfish. all he does is sit under a rock completely hidden from anyone when the lights are on. rarely eats with them on too. what fun is that? on another thought.. at least it wasn't a purchase. caught it from the local pond 
I said it before and i will say it again. I regret buying a Red belly pacu, the size is what fooled me lol. It was a size of a quarter now it is 20inch+
Mine would have to be when I bought a green spotted puffer and put it in my 10 gal. Nver did any reaserch. Put a goldfish that was a feeder in the tank (not as food) and the poor fella had half his body ripped up! I was about 10 yr. old though so I think that takes away some of the shame. Croaked a couple weeks later

My worst was a 36 gal bow front on July 2nd. On July 27th bought a 55. For Christmas getting a 120. Looking at a 240 in Duluth. Found some plans for a 1000. Now acording to my wife if I don't stop I'll be looking for a good lawyer. The excuse it's for the kids does not work anymore
Id have to say the sun/eclipse catfish I bought He looks cool and all but he WILL NOT come out during the day. I have to use a flashlight with the lights all off at night if I even want to see him. so basically he sits in there and adds to the bioload and nothing else. My pleco is a social butterfly compared to him ;>.> I didnt think a /Sun/ catfish would be so stubbornly nocturnal!
