My only real losses were a result of something eating something else so I don't have any experience with corpse disposal.

Freezer idea sounds like the best way since it hardly ever drops below freezing outside where I live (Victoria, BC Canada). The winter olympics are coming to nearby Vancouver BC and they don't have enough snow for events. Should be interesting.
 
Please don't flush the small one either. That is a good way to introduce parasites from other continents into your local water way!


Garden, compost pile, neighbors garbage can, etc... all good methods.

Yeah freezing and tossing is the best bet, or good old fashioned burial if the ground's not frozen (with or without a little marker with Mr. Pleco's name on it).
