When does caribe season begin?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
when you start with that many it'll be hard to notice if one or two has gone missing. keep water temp a little low that will help with aggression, put a decent powerhead in the tank to keep them busy would help a bit too. also at small size you need to feed more frequent so they don't turn each other into food. you can probably start moving them after they hit 4" or so.
also you can start cut back on the feeding as they grow so they don't become obesed.

Ok thanks guys! I will be sure to keep them well fed but not over fed that they don't attack the food aggressively

Fine by me the quicker they will get into the 400 gallon. I also plan on feeding shrimp, massive, flakes, and bluegills which I will have in a QT tank

You can probably pass on the flakes, I always start with shrimp and frozen fish when I get them. If you do feed pellets maker sure you don't feed too much because the pellets will have more nutrients (calorie) than shrimp or fish at the same volume.

Alright thanks JP. I already got the bluegills in QT! I am stacked up on shrimp and massivore so that's what I'll begin feeding once they get here. I'll keep in mind to not over feed with pellets

Only a few more weeks until caribe season! Can't wait!

Quick update guys. I just ordered 20 caribe from aquascape a little bit more pricey than I expected. I figure to try to save up and get some more before they are all gone. I wish I could buy 10 more! :(

I would put them in 125 until the 400 cycles completely and raise them up on premium pellets and wait until there 5 to 6 inches then feed them the raw stuff that way they won't taste blood to young and you'll have less casualty
