I'm starting this thread to get opinions and actual testimonies of discrimintation cause of race. I have lived with it my whole life and was raised to judge a person by character not color of skin or religious background. Today, my son was playing GOW II on Xboxlive and a few guys started cursing and calling him names. My son said "I'm only a kid I am trying" The two guys responded with "who gives a "f..." you stupid...we'll you get the point. We'll I got upset and got on the speaker. Several times I was called "Spick" "Wetback" you name it. I went off the handle and probably said things I regret cause I don't like my son to see me that way. Today really put into perspective that racism will always exist and that a lot of people are closed minded and too ignorant to give others a chance. Anyways if anyone would like to share a similar experience you are welcome to it.

unfortunately this thead will probably be closed. however, keep in mind that you are on xbox live. alot of the ignorant comments are just to make people lose their cool.
I was a Gamer hardcore on PS3 for quite some time and that's what you're going to get. you can ignore people like that (it's a function so you don't hear them anymore) and you can try reporting them to Xbox customer support just make sure you have there SN.
also remember these people that you're playing with will only talk like that b/c they know that there is nothing you can really do. and given the chance in real life they would NEVER say anything like that to your face b/c they would be far to cowardly. so ignore/mute them as players and report them when possible.

Yeah good points I don't mind the remarks at me but when it is a kid I think that is when people go too far-but I agree koop171-people say it cause they know that you can't physically hurt them. It one thing to be called an a.... or a jerk but why do people have to use race. I was watching the news and this guy was actually being stalked cause he beat another guy on Madden-a whole bunch of racist comments.

Years ago I taught in Nebraska and went shopping for groceries with the misses. Anyways the clerk was really nice and polite and as we were going to leave she asked me my race. I said Hispanic-she was like "no way you can't be" I was like "Why?" Cause "you speak English and it doesn't look like you steal cars-you must be from the Middle East" Talk about ignorant.
