When dose feeding become animal fighting?

^depends on the turtles size, i would think cause my lil guy takes about 5min to eat a whole silver side and he's 3inches. Now maybe for a fully grown snapper it would just be a snack lol if the turtle is fully grown i think he could gobble him up pretty darn fast

I think you'd be better off feeding him some crayfish, even with claws banded up i feel a lobster could do damage if not to your turtle but to your tank, those guys have some serious force. I know snappers have a lot of biting force, but don't you think a lobsters shell could be a bit harder and the shards sharper than anything they'd eat naturally? I'm in no way against live feeding I'd just hate for your turtle to get hurt in the process, maybe try treating him to a small garden snake or corn snake or something if you live near any woods

I agree w/ NC.. try something thats actually apart of it's native diet. Personally I'de go get it a nice salmon fillet or other fish fillet thats not only something liek it would find in the wild.. but also very healthy for it to consume.

BTW giveing your cat a live feeder mouse is not smart.. they are riddled with disease and parasites often times. It's a great way to give your cats mites, infections, parasites ect... Most reptile hobbyists don't run into issues usually because of the mammalian/reptilian difference in most parasites/bacterial ect.. but it can happen still.

btw i'm 100% pro live foods. Just gotta really watch out and know the dangers associated with it.

Yeah, It looks like the minimum legal size for California lobster is bigger than what I'm looking for = (

I do they are part of is regular diet. I think I might just see what I can get a good deal on at the pet shop. Hmm... I could see him liking some kind of eel.

^^ TOO MUCH DRUNK:WHOA:

Just for the record I fed him blue gill for x mas, he ate 7. Good thing my filter rocks.
