When Rays Attack!!! Part I

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Was the angel already dead? Honestly, i'm disgusted to think your feeding such beautiful fish to a ray. Rays can be easily accomodated to eat dead foods, there is no need for live food, especially live angels. :( :(

The fish was alive and well for over two weeks. Like I stated in my first post, I am trying to intergrate other fish into my aro/ray setup. Something that I have been able to do with other fish. :) All you see are the failures but not the fish I have been able to intergrate with my aro/ray tank. :woot: Im sure you yourself have tried various fish mixtures that failed. :( It was not my intention for the ray to eat my angel fish, but it was a risk I took.

So would you be disgusted if it wasnt such a "beautiful fish" in your opinion? :screwy: People love goldfish, guppys, whitecloads, and snakheads, yet they are used as feeders on a MASS level.

No need to preach to me about how to feed my ray! :swear:

I kept an 8in motoro with a couple 4in tall angels but then I started a community tank so I moved them but none got eaten

I apologise. I thought that the Angel had been put into the tank just for the single purpose of food for the ray. :)
I dont think there is any need to feed using live fish whatsoever, except if the fish has just been introduced from the wild, but i know that it is just a difference of opinion. The US had a very different opinion to Europe as a whole.

a feeder tank of angelfish is pretty monster. too bad it didnt work out. nice ray and pics. i also want to see II.

Carl D ~ no worries bro!

BTW would love to see a pic your g. cat! how big is it?

old bump!

Its odd to me how many people dislike the feeding of live fish? they will all have to buy them selves wet suits and hang out on the bottom of the amazon river for a while carring signs if they really want to make a difference (whisper, it is what fish eat in the wild) One of my 12" motoros ate my 8" red tail barracuda.... darn it i liked that fish..keep up with the pictures dude i never thought they would eat an angel..

found that out before with a 5" altum

bumper baby!!!
