The aquarium salt, When I do a w/c I Drain it out my window with a hose, than I fill up a 3 gallon water jug with 80* water and put it into my tank.

When doing this Should I put the salt in the water jug or just put it into the tank?

i know i shouldnt but i just throw the salt into the tank!

lol

ideally you should disolve the water into your jug....

Disolve the water? U mean like when I fill the jug up and put the salt in add an air bubbler?

no need for a bubbler, what i meant to say was disolve the salt into the water thats in your jug. sorry! just mix it up a bit in the jug before you put the water into your tank.

thou i guess it also depends on how much salt you put into the jug...

I thow mine in the jug when i'm using a jug but when i fill with a hose I add the salt to the back of my HOB. If I just throw salt in my tank the fish hit it like it's food and that freaks me out.

I add salt when i get a new fish, when my fish are sick, and when I do w/c it helps with slime coat, recovering from cuts, and prevents ich and other stuff.

FYI salt also occurs naturally in the wild...

Salts do occur in fresh water. The term salts refer to many different ions contained in surface fresh waters such as carbonates, bicarbonates of sodium, potassium, etc.. If your using the usual ground or surface water supplied in a typical municipal potable water system, these "salts" are already there. Generally there is no reason to add additional sodium chloride to a fresh water tank, unless of course you are treating for ich, nitrite in an uncycled tank, etc.
