when to buy a new ray

i wouldnt suggest getting anymore rays until u get a bigger tank... even ur retic will outgrow it

so how big of a tank would be good mine right now is 4ft by 1ft

well, retics will get about an 18" disk size and thats not including the long tail. For motoros i normally suggest an 8ft by 3ft x 2ft but most people suggest even bigger since motoro females can get a good 30" disk

your next tank should be 24" wide 180 6x2x2..... then your atleast covered for awhile....

i donno check on craigslist, you can get some good deals there, new would cost you around $4000. Im sure the person at the fish store u bought it from told you it would be fine in a 55 gallon for life lol
