When would be a good time to move my grow outs from the 55 gal to the 150 gallon?

In the 150 I only have 3 fish- 11" pleco, 7" Jack, and a 13" Jaguar mix. And in my 55 I have some growing fish- a 5-6" albino O, 4-5" Jack, 4-5" texas and a misc. 5" silver shark.

Time is no problem- it could be now or later, but I was hoping to do it all together because the Jag is not the friendliest of fish :nilly: and my way of thinking is that if i do the fish all at once the Jags attention will be split between them all. I have no worries about the Jack in the 150 because I have yet to see him touch any fish, I actually have put some barbs with him before and they have been fine (though he does just well defending from the Jag.).

I was thinking when the smallest fish got to be about 5-6" or so...

Any Advice?

Thanks,
Dwarfcichlid

What you should do, is put all the 55 fish into the 150, then place the Jag into the 55. keep it like this way for a week or so, so the other fish have time to set up territory, then after a week, put the Jag back. He probably wont be as aggressive. But keep in mind, he may get picked on, although thats nothing 3 days of healing cant fix.

I totally agree, just watch out for your O,they arnt the toughest fish.

You should wait till the 5-6" mark. If not then there is the chance that your jag mix will destroy or eat your other fish. Btw what is your jag mixed with? In your avatar he looks awesome.

Never mind i missed the part when you said your 55 fish current size. In that case you could most likely do it now just be aware of aggression problems.

either take out the jag n put him in 55 and let others get settled for about a week and then add him again or, do a 50% water change move all ornaments, bogwood, rocks, plants etc and then put them in so you break up territorys.

Put in some target fish (another upside to breeding cons).
